On The Rocks’ Fall Retreat
This past weekend, October 16-18, On The Rocks went on retreat to Cheyenne, Wyoming. Over these three days, we took time to learn new music, practice our current songs, and bond as a group. This retreat was the perfect way for us to get away and focus on our group and music.
On Friday, we all drove up to Cheyenne. After a quick meal together, we worked on some music, including Man I Feel Like a Woman by Shania Twain and a mash up of Survivor by Destiny’s Child and I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor. Once our work was done, we had some great group bonding time where we played various games and spent meaningful time together.
We were up and out early the next morning, heading over to the Cheyenne Botanical Gardens to explore and take some photos. Once we all had some coffee in our systems, we geared up for a big rehearsal, where we auditioned new soloists and focused on blend. We’re excited to have Kira Warren soloing on Sweet Escape, and Darcy Brydges soloing on Snow Angel! After rehearsal was over, we spent the night cooking and eating dinner together, playing Just Dance, and making one very late Taco Bell run! With an early morning the next day, we cleaned up the house and drove back to Boulder, capping off an incredible weekend of music and fun.
